Through the good karma of having meaningful relationships with older adults in our lives, we noticed something they all shared: loneliness. Not from lack of strength or independence, but from missing the simple joy of someone to share life experiences with.
We realized there are staffing agencies for nannies, chefs, drivers, housekeepers, house managers… but no one quite staffs friendship. There is a lack of focus on the active, older adults who don’t need physical caregiving, but do need company.
“Necessity is the mother of invention.” And while we didn’t invent companionship, we did create a new way to fight aging – by curating the right matches between people who can truly change each other’s worlds.
